Streamlining Your Concrete Production
With an ever-growing concrete market, the possibilities are limitless. At Ashlar Manufacturing, we proudly produce custom-engineered, superior concrete batching plants and systems. Our customers come from a high-demand industry where the highest priority is meeting production goals and deadlines with the highest quality products possible. By choosing the proper batching plant equipment for your company, you can increase the speed of construction while minimizing concrete waste and saving time and money.
Creating Your Batch System
Concrete batching is the process of measuring, combining, and mixing concrete ingredients to include cement, sand, aggregate materials, and water for an exact mix which is then molded to match your precise design. The accuracy of the batching process and measured ingredients is critical in order to produce high-quality, structurally strong concrete over and over again. The durability of all construction structures depends on the quality of the concrete batching systems equipment and the precise concrete mix produced.
Ashlar’s goal of zero-defect equipment quality means that we are the preferred manufacturer for many construction and development companies. Our expertise and value engineering approach means that we can design and deliver the very best batching system and equipment to meet your needs.
We begin by listening to understand your goals and long-term plans. We evaluate the space where you’ll be producing your products, and then we get to work to offer you the best options available. Our aim is to help you reliably meet your production goals.
Ashlar’s World-Class Solutions and Inventory
Ashlar Machinery’s experience is unrivaled in the design, development, manufacturing, and delivery of concrete equipment. Our batch systems can be customized to work with any mixture of concrete, including ready mix, wet-cast, and dry-cast.
Specifically, we offer new and used equipment for batch systems. Those pieces of equipment include:
- Aggregate bins for rock, sand, and other materials
- Belt and weigh conveyors
- Cement silos
- Weigh hoppers
- Mixers
- Moisture control systems
- Automatic and manual control systems
- Cement screws and augers
And more. We can custom-fabricate any piece of equipment you need.
At Ashlar, we consistently set the standards in the concrete industry for quality and innovation. Every piece of equipment goes through multiple quality evaluation processes and rigorous inspections from design through machining, fabrication, and manufacturing. Before each machine is shipped for installation, it is tested for several thousand cycles. All of these quality control measures ensure that Ashlar equipment is performing at its best, reducing waste, and resulting in economy of production.
Ashlar Machinery is committed to creating innovative products with integrity and reliability.
Concrete Batching Systems
Do you want to manufacture pavers or block on the job site? It’s certainly a more efficient option. We can help you set that up without taking up too much space so you and the other contractors on the job have room to work.
If you’re a construction firm considering adding a batch system to your equipment list, then we have a few tips to help you decide if it’s the right fit for you. When considering if a batching plant is the right investment for your company, ask yourself if:
- What types of concrete batching will your plant require?
- What types of aggregate will be needed?
- What are the overall production requirements for your construction project?
- What type of slump or consistency must the fresh concrete have before it sets?
- Can the concrete batch plant be installed on the construction sites, or must it be installed at a different location?
- If not on the construction site, how far away is the concrete production location (accounting for mix type, transportation times, concrete pouring, and forming) from your anticipated construction site or sites?
- How many hours a day will your concrete batching plant need to be operational on an average project?
If you’re not sure of the answers, we can help you determine what’s best for the scale of your operation.
Ready Mix Concrete Plants
If a centralized concrete batching plant near your construction site is more advantageous, let Ashlar Manufacturing design and build it. Concrete components are mixed at a ready mix concrete plant, then transported in a specifically designed truck outfitted with a mixer, providing continuous concrete rotation until delivery and pour at each construction site.
You’ll be able to go at your desired pace to complete the job in your own time.
Wet-Cast versus Dry-Cast Concrete
Wet-cast concrete is a more fluid form of concrete that can be poured from a mixer, hopper, or truck. Wet-cast concrete is often cast into forms and molds, then stripped, finished, and stamped or marked prior to shipping. Wet-cast concrete is preferred for larger, more complex forms that need greater flowability throughout the form or around reinforcements.
Dry-cast concrete, on the other hand, has a low water-to-cement ratio. It is very rigid, dry, and shows no measurable slump, zero-slump or negative-slump, after the removal of a slump cone. Dry-cast concrete, with its faster dry time, is used to mass-produce products such as concrete pipe, box culverts, highway barriers, and foundations. Since it maintains its cast shape, fewer forms are needed and can be stripped away immediately.
We proudly partner with many dry-cast concrete product manufacturers across the world. We work to design and build a batch system that’s right for their specific applications. We work with those who need wet-cast concrete batch plants as well, custom designing each one to allow for less down time, easier maintenance, and a reliable resulting product.
